The Sun as Healer

There are so many health benefits of sun exposure, yet we slather ourselves in sun block, wear sunglasses, and avoid direct sun light. We've been taught that the sun can cause serious health issues, but what are the benefits?

We now know that the sun is our link to vitamin D levels, which can help prevent cancer. In addition, the sun can help the body's hormonal system by regulating our circadian rhythms and our mood. It helps in creating dopamine, seratonin, melatonin, among other essential hormones.

When I lived in New England I was astonished that we had one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the United States. I looked into this and found that we were further away from the equator so we received more UVA and less UVB. This is also the case with filtered sunlight (light coming through a window).

Going deeper into my research I found that there have been multiple studies showing increased rate of melanomas in individuals who have had a history where UVB light was filtered out.

So the question arises, why after the introduction of sunblock is our rate of skin cancer rising? Are we blocking the right UV rays when we put on our sunglasses and sunblock?

Scientists understand that there is a deep cellular connection with UV/infra red wavelength spectrum, the electromagnetic fields, and our earth. The plants open themselves and reach for the sun every day. The birds sing glory to it every morning. Our ancestors worshiped the sun.

I myself have found profound healing in my worshiping of the sun. I encourage you to do your research into how profoundly the sun affects the functioning of our cells, hormones, mood, and energy.

Excuse me now, while I go out and worship!
