Everyone is talking about the benefits of the Keto diet. We are hearing studies about how it can reduce inflammation by using fat instead of sugar/carbs as fuel. Its a very interesting complicated process, but it seems to make sense.
On the other hand, the verdict is still out for some people that happen to have the Apoe4 gene. Although the Keto diet has shown to improve Alzheimers, people with this gene are more susceptible. You would think they should jump right onto a Keto diet!
Not so fast! People with the Apoe4 gene are also susceptible to higher cholesterol as they have been shown not to clear fats out to their liver and out of their body as quickly as most people. Taking this into consideration, the verdict is still out on whether a high fat diet is beneficial. Would love to hear your thoughts!!
